What this platform is, how German municipal tax data is sourced, and our verification standards.
Kurtaxe is an open, independent directory tracking municipal visitor taxes (spa dues and resort fees) and metropolitan accommodation taxes (city taxes and occupancy levies) across German municipalities. It currently tracks 2 municipalities: 2 with verified, sourced rates from official municipal bylaws, and 0 pending automated research.
Every entry is sourced directly from official municipal bylaws, local government portals, tourism administrations, or municipal revenue offices. We only accept official German domains ending in .de to prevent inaccurate or third-party aggregator data. Nothing is estimated or guessed.
A scheduled automated updater regularly re-checks each municipality's official source page to extract updated rates, seasonal brackets, exemption criteria, and short-term rental rules. If a bylaw is updated, changes are reviewed and compiled into the static registry. Data was last refreshed on 2026-10-07.
This website is an independent reference platform and does not constitute official legal or tax advice. Municipal bylaws in Germany are governed by state municipal tax legislation and local council resolutions, which may be modified at any time. Always verify current figures with the local municipal administration, tourism office, or tax department.
If your municipality is not yet listed, submit a request via the 'Request a municipality' form. The system will search for the official municipal bylaw on a verified .de domain and publish the entry upon verification.
